Final Research Essay Project 7-8 pages long with 6 sources
MY TOPIC IS HUMAN CLONING and the possibilities and ways of successfully cloning humans, and the sciences behind it. (see attached document to get more details.)
The final draft should be about 7-8 pages long, double spaced, 12 point font. It should adhere to MLA or APA style. And, it should include a properly formatted Works Cited page that includes all the sources used that were not class assigned readings. The Works Cited page does not count towards the page length requirement.
This project will be a focused research, thesis-driven topic of your own choosing. But you will want to use the sources and weekly discussions from this course as a starting point. In the second half of the semester, we will read more material about perception, images, film, how we construct our own lived reality (and how others try to construct our reality), and examine the consequences of it all. Some of these readings will come at these issues from unique starting points to give you examples of how you might take this course content in new ways that appeal more directly to you.
For this project, you will either build on the first, shorter research essay or create a new research project. You will need to incorporate at least 6 sources into the essay. If you want, you can edit out some of the sources from your first essay to make more room for other material that might be more closely related to the conversation on which you want to focus.
The purpose of this assignment is to help build the skill of incorporating others’ viewpoints and arguments into a coherent whole. What often happens is that students skimp on the research necessary to write a good, argumentative research paper, and their grades in other college classes suffer as a result. These research papers are often long on personal opinion but very short on factual, nuanced support. What we are trying to accomplish in this class, is to show students just how much work goes into the research/literature review part of the thesis driven essay. Hence, all the summary responses. It’s not something that can be adequately accomplished overnight, or over a weekend. It takes dedication. It takes some planning. And it takes a good bit of time.
