two of the readings assigned on the course syllabus and, using the techniques we have discussed, write an essay thoroughly demonstrating how individual aspects of those pieces can be synthesized to form a new idea. You must directly engage with the texts you choose in formulating your synthesis. This means you will have to make use of direct quotations and examples from the texts you discuss. Use the latest MLA Style Guide for formatting both the citations within your paper (in-text/parenthetical citations) and your “works cited” page at the end of your paper.
Assignments should be formatted as follows:
- 12-point font
- 1” inch margins
- 5 pages in length
- Determination of Grades:Papers receiving a final grade in the “A” range will be, simply put, exemplary. That is, they will be well written in maintaining coherence from point-to-point, sentence-to-sentence, paragraph-to-paragraph. The “A” paper will have rare to no grammatical errors in spelling, punctuation, and the like. In my experience, conferencing with me about drafts of your paper before the due date make achieving this more likely.
